The characters of Lewis Carroll’s classic story “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” come to life at the Canmore Recreation Centre, Alex Kaleta arena on Sunday, March 11, 6:30pm through the charm and energy of the figure skaters of the Canmore Skating Club. This theatre-on-ice production brings together professional lighting, colourful costumes and music from many genres to tell Alice’s story. Advance tickets will be available at the Rocky Mountain Soap Company in Canmore and Banff. General admission is $10; children 5 years of age and younger free.

Jay Baydala leads a discussion on the power of collective humanity. Baydala and his organization, UEnd.org, have taken the fight against poverty to new levels, using innovative and engaging approaches that challenge us to change the way we think about giving.

From the wild and creative imaginations of the Old Trout Puppet Workshop comes Ignorance, a puppet documentary about the blissful prehistoric origins of humanity.

Ignorance is about the evolution of happiness – from the thick-blooded hearts of the ancient caves, to the ethereal heaven of our light-speed future – it’s about where we all went wrong, and how we might find our way once again. From the creators of Famous Puppet Death Scenes, comes the next new theatrical event of the year.

These fun walk/run 5k and 10k races support SPEF de Canmore. For children aged 2-5 years, there will be a free obstacle race, and childcare will be available (* registration required).

"Oh My Darling" is more than just a 19th century American folk ballad. It's also an all-girl folk pop quartet from Winnipeg, and this Oh My Darling is coming to Canmore to play at the Drake Inn.

The group consists of Allison de Groot (banjo), Rosalyn Dennett (fiddle), Vanessa Kuzina (vocals, guitar) and Marie-Josee Dandeneau (upright bass).

Good Earth Cafe will host an event to celebrate Earth Hour starting at 8:00 pm. The lights will be turned off and candels will be lit from 8:30pm-9:30pm in support of Earth Hour.

Live music will be played by Ken Chambers. Proceeds from sales during Earth Hour will be donated to The Nature Conservancy Canada (NCC). NCC is the nation's leading private land conservation organization, working to protect our natural areas and the plants and animals they sustain.

Barbara Milne is a prominent western Canadian landscape artist who has exhibited extensively across Canada and is collected in many significant public and private collections. Please join the Edge Gallery on March 31 from 2-5 pm for the opening reception (artist will be in attendance).
